Asun Carnival Will Forever Unify Us, Thanks To Wanle Akinboboye – Ondo Oba, Osamawe Kiladejo.

His Royal Majesty , the Oba of Ondo, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo JILO III, CFR, the Osemawe Kiladejo 1, has commended the Founder of Asun Carnival, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, Founder, La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort Worldwide, for bringing up the annual Asun Carnival which he said, is now poised to be a great unifying factor among the indigenes of Ondo State, Nigerians generally and Africans at large.  The monarch who spoke through his representative, Chief Akinbileje liyemoja of Ondo Kingdom, said that, he is impressed by the massive crowd that has turned up for the event this year, and the fact that, Asun Carnival has this year, brought home to Ondo, sons and daughters of the state, as well as friends from home and abroad.  “The rain the previous day, was actually to render special blessings to this year’s Asun Carnival. Tourism Icon, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye’s Tourism product No 28 is ‘Transforming Attractions to Destinations’.

In  delivering this week’s tourism product, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, apologized over the delay, which he attributed to his rather very tight schedule, and work on a project related to this week’s tourism product as well. He recalled that, in the last 40 years development of the tourism industry in Nigeria, he has always stressed the importance of creating tourism destinations. Otunba Akinboboye said that, Nigeria has numerous geographical and other attractions that includes beaches, hills, waterfalls, historical landmarks and so on. However, it has failed to transform many of these tourist attractions into tourism destinations, which is essential in creating a viable tourism industry in Nigeria and providing employment and economic empowerment to numerous communities across Nigeria. Tourism product of the Week No. 27 is Beach Polo, Says, Tourism Icon, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye.

Tourism  icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye this week focuses on the need for the continent of Africa, to take advantage of its advantages’, by focusing on tourism products that leverage off “our access to this large expanse of sand. With Nigeria alone, having over 884 km of sandy beaches.”   According to him, the product he spoke about last week; ‘Ijoko Yanri‘, took advantage of sand to create seating. In line with this, he would be talking about another tourism product; ‘Beach Polo’, which could leverage off the country’s access to sand. He explained that Beach Polo is a variant of a well known sporting activity known as ‘Polo’ or ‘The Game of Kings’, a sport synonymous with grassy paddocks and wealthy men wielding mallets on the back of charging horses.
