Our sources who begged for anonymity revealed that the insurgents had visited Monguno last week, when they attempted attacking his residence which was left vacant for years.

The insurgents who appeared angry at the time they visited the NSA's residence, told the security guards in the house to call and inform the retired general, that on no account should he should step his feet into the town, as they promised to deal with him any time they lay eyeso on him.

Another source from Monguno Local Government area of Borno State, who simply introduced himself as Bukur, said, following the threat:

"About 10 military trucks came to the NSA family House around 2:00pm and evacuated all the properties allegedly belonging to General Monguno, including members of his nuclear family. They left the town, to an unknown destination."

One of the local residents of Monguno said:

"I heard one Army officer with the rank of a Major saying that, 'even if it took them till 3 am to load the properties, they would embark on the Journey to Abuja, as he shouted at the soldiers doing the work."

The Source further revealed that, "Immediately after the 10 Trucks left, 2 Military Helicopters landed in one of the primary school and air lifted about 18 people from the General's nuclear family house, including General Monguno's stepmother and added that all the General's family Members have now left Monguno, although it is yet to be officially ascertained.

This Medium was also reliably informed by some residents of Monguno that, Retired General Babagana Monguno has never for one day cared about the sufferings his People have been going through from the insurgents, especially the series of attacks they have been experiencing from the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.

Many of them said they wonder why President Muhammadu Buhari continues to work with the National Security adviser, in spite of his embarrassing performance.

They appealed to the president to use his wisdom and good office to consider replacing NSA Monguno with a more competent military officer from either the serving or retired personel, who will properly advise him on how to tackle the insecurity bedevelling the country.
