REVEALED: GEN ALI GUSAU, BAFARAWA, OTHERS FINGERED AS SPONSORS OF ARMED BANDTRRY IN NORTHERN NIGERIA.
Information reaching this medium from reliable sources revealed that Gen Aliyu Gusau Rtd, former Sokoto state Governor Attahiru Bafarawa and some top northern politicians are fingered for sponsoring insurgency in northern Nigeria.
Reports say due the intensity and seriousness of the investigations being conducted on the accused, Gen Gusau and Attahiru Bafarawa are now placed on both national and foreign security watch lists. According to our source, names of other top northern politicians would be revealed as soon as the investigations being conducted on them are completed.
The preliminary reports of the investigations said the two were placed on the watch lists for the roles have been playing in fuellig armed banditry in north western Nigeria.
The source said general Gusau has been using Attahiru Bafarawa as well as some foreign nationals especially from China and Neither land to aid the activities of the bandits in the region through supply of weapons and other logistics to the criminals.
The information said investigations revealed that Gen Gusau who has been into mining activities in the region for decades was angry with the federal government ban on mining in the region and has since been using the banditry to continue the mining activities. According to the investigations, most of the weapons being used by the bandits were imported by the retired general from neither land and China using helicopters.
The investigations further revealed that those weapons coming to the region through borders are being coordinated by former Sokoto state governor Attahiru Bafarawa.
It may be recalled that some Chinese nationals working for the Gen in some mining fields were arrested in Zamfara state and were granted on bail to Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, the then Deputy Governor of the state and are still not prosecuted due to the general's intervention. While Attahiru Bafarawa has been fighting hard to secure the release of his two nephews now in detention for supplying weapons and other essential needs of the bandits.
